Project update nr2: Baruna of 1938
Today we present and show off the skills of our talented woodwork team here at VMG as we take a closer look at the crew hatch onboard. The opportunity to build such a piece of aft in solid teak and use traditional methods is not a common sight onboard todays yachts and it requires years of experience. The ventilation detail is of a design that has been seen on many of Olin Stephens yachts and again now onboard Baruna, the solid teak construction is shown in exclusive detail though traditional hand cut dove tails, the ultimate test of any great craftsman. Raw teak steps with handholds assist the crew for using the crew hatch on a regular basis.
