WHAT HAPPENS AT THE YARD: FEBRUARY

The days are getting longer, the sun is out, and spring is just around the corner. Days like these make you wish the boats were already back in the water. At VMG Yachtbuilders, we’re making sure they will be more than ready when the time comes.

At Stofberg, a temporary spray booth is being set up for the three sport fishing boats so we can move forward with their finishing work. Meanwhile, most of the technical installations have been completed, and we have started fitting the interiors. As you can see in the photos, this next phase is making good progress.

On Simmerdream, the teardown is done, the steel has been treated, and insulation is in. Now it’s time to start rebuilding. Step by step, she’s coming back to life.

The main hall is packed with boats. A new Puffin, Misha, and two sport fishing boats are all inside, keeping the team busy.

Meanwhile, we’ve started the varnish work on Misha, beginning with stripping and sanding.

The Puffin 42 has been fully insulated, and we’ve started installing the interior. The front cabin is already starting to take shape.

At SDH, another hull is already taking shape. This time, it’s the Zilverfloat Scout 35, and progress is moving along well.
